This simplified Sucuklu Tost, a beloved Turkish classic, is a delightful fusion of savoury and cheesy goodness, sandwiched between slices of your favourite bread. Here's how to make it step by step.



INGREDIENTS

  • Slices of your choice of bread

  • Cheese (any variety you have at home)

  • Turkish sucuk sausage (or any sausage you prefer)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Start by selecting your bread slices. You can use any type of bread you have on hand.

  2. Take your chosen slices and place them on a clean surface.

  3. Next, it's time to layer on the ingredients. Begin by adding slices of cheese on one side of each bread slice.

  4. Now, place a few slices of Turkish sucuk sausage (or your preferred sausage) on top of the cheese.

  5. Gently sandwich the slices together, creating a delicious cheese and sausage filling between them.

  6. Preheat a grill or a pan over medium heat. I'm using a grill toaster.

  7. Carefully place your prepared Turkish tost into the grill or pan or grill toaster. Grill it without the top layer (bread) first.

  8. As the cheese begins to melt and the bread crisps up, add a bit more cheese on top of the sandwich.

  9. Finally, place the remaining slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.

  10. Continue grilling until both sides of the tost are golden brown and the cheese is melted to perfection.

  11. Remove from the grill or pan and let it cool for a moment.

  12. Slice your Turkish 'tost' into halves or quarters for easy handling.

  13. Serve this delightful creation as an ideal addition to a Turkish breakfast or enjoy it as a delicious snack.
